July 8th and 9th, 2017 marked the 44th Annual Evans Art Guild Outdoor Summer Juried Art and Crafts Show.  This year’s show was held on the grounds of the Town of Evans Senior center, and not only featured booths filled with original artwork, jewelry, photography, fossil art, fabric art, and other creative wonders, but the seniors also held a wonderful bake sale to help raise funds for more activities at the center.

In addition, the EAG held a Chinese Raffle, and awarded two $400.00 scholarships to graduating Lake Shore High School seniors continuing their education in the arts:  Shauna Chiapetta and Jasmine Ellis. The scholarship funds were donated by the Evans Art Guild and Turtle Joe’s Restaurant and Sandbar’s Greg and Jennifer Ballowe.

Chinese Raffle had some great stuff! Did you get yours? Thank you Suzie Gullo, Sue Palys and Terry Rose for a great job! Special thanks to Jessie Mackenberg for her incredible help in collecting raffle donations!

The Evans Art Guild was honored once again this year to have muralist and decorative artist Timothy Martin on board as Judge for the Juried Show.  Tim brought along one of his newest works, the Ducky! – a painting of the large inflatable yellow Duck which graced the Buffalo harbor last summer.  Tim appeared on WBBZ’s the Daily Buzz twice, showing the progress of the painting and even mentioning that the final piece appeared in the Evans Art Guild show over the weekend. Tim’s painting was purchased by a local fan at the EAG show, and partial proceeds will be going to charity!  Congratulations Tim!
